Easy Coffee Cake

1/2 cup chopped pecans 1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon butter, softened
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup butter
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350°f. Grease and flour a 9-inch square pan; set aside.

Combine first 4 ingredients in a small bowl, stirring with a fork until crumbly. Set aside.

Combine flour and next 4 ingredients in a large bowl; cut in 1/2 cup butter with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Combine egg, milk, and vanilla; add egg mixture to flour mixture, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.

Pour batter into prepared pan; sprinkle evenly with pecan mixture. Bake coffee cake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack 10 minutes. Cut into squares to serve. Serve warm. Yield: one 9-Inch coffee cake.
